Bookstore and Pumpkin Patch...

In the morning while Matt was sleeping off the night shift, I took Tyler to the bookstore for story time. All went well, until we went to leave the bookstore and I couldn't find my car keys. I went in and out of the bookstore twice, trying to find them. I asked the people at the checkout line, as well as customer service, if they had seen my keys. After I was sure that I could not find my keys, I called Matt on his cell phone and woke him up from his sleep to ask him if he could bring me the spare car key so Tyler and I could come home. Matt headed on his way to meet me at the bookstore...and wouldn't you know...less than 10 minutes before he got to the bookstore, I found my keys, hidden in a tiny little pocket of Tyler's backpack that we brought into the bookstore with us!!

We also went to the pumpkin patch. Tyler had a great time!! By far, his favorite thing to do was feed the goats. He would have been content feeding them corn all day long, but once we moved on from that, he did enjoy the hay ride, corn pit and sitting on the tractors!

Tyler wasn't a huge fan of walking in the corn...actually, let me rephrase: he was not a fan of walking in the corn but with daddy's help, he was fine!

On the hay ride...at first, he told us he did not want to go on "the ride." Once we started going though, he was a big fan!

36 Weeks...

Here I am at 36 weeks with Baby #2...

I had my 36 week OB appointment today. All went well. I'm up in the low 30's in terms of pounds gained during this pregnancy. My physician said I am 50% effaced and 1 cm dilated. We didn't discuss any plans for induction yet. I figured since I've made some minor progress in terms of effacement and dilation (I know, minor...but hey, progress is progress), I'm going to wait until my 37 week appointment to see if there is any additional progress.

As much as I want to meet our baby and bring he or she home, I'm also pretty motivated to keep working for now. The way that my maternity leave falls, if I can make it through the entire work week of October 7th, then I won't have to return to work until January 6tth. This will be the first time in 7 years that I have not had to work one of the holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Years!)

Tyler's First Ride...

In the morning, I took Tyler to the park to burn off some energy:

In the afternoon, Matt and I took Tyler to City of Burlington Park This isn't just any old park...this park has a carousel and amusement park rides for little kids! The playground is also amazing! This was our first time at the park and we can't wait to go back!

We started out our afternoon at the park by trying to get Tyler to go on the train. He didn't want to but he did want to watch it go by.

Tyler wasn't a fan of the carousel which is why we have no pictures of him on a horse. The carousel is loud and we are thinking that the loud noise is what was intimidating for him. We did ride it, however rode it sitting down in a seat. Every now and then, Tyler would look up at us as, almost as if he were embarrassed. We spent alot of time on the ride telling him he was doing a great job and that we were proud of him.When he felt reassured, he smiled and seemed to enjoy it.

After our experience with the train ride and carousel, we were a bit apprehensive about what the rest of the afternoon would bring for us. Imagine our surprise when Tyler hopped on his first ever ride...and without us!! He decided to ride in the fire truck.

I don't think he realized that it was actually a ride and it was going to move. At first, he looked like he was going to cry but within seconds, had a great time. Matt and I laughed throughout most of the time watching him ride the ride. We were both in disbelief that he was on the ride, by himself and actually enjoyed it!

We started walking by the boats and he said, "I want to ride that!"

We approached an actual ride that lifted in the air and sure enough, Tyler wanted to ride this one too!

We headed over to the playground once we were finished with the rides. This is by far the biggest slide Tyler has ever been on. We are fairly certain that Tyler got to the top and refused to go down...until another girl pushed him down. Either way, he was happy in the end.

When we were done at the park, we went out to eat at Olive Garden. We don't go out to eat much and because of Matt's work schedule, we don't get to spend all of our weekends together. When we do, I cherish them so much.

33 Weeks and Date Night...

Matt found out that one of his friends from high school recently moved to the area with his wife. They hadn't seen each other in over 13 years. We went out to dinner and had a great time!

Start of September...

Since we don't know whether or not we will be having a son or a daughter, I decided to be prepared for both! I'm not totally opposed to gender neutral, but I wanted to have a few options right away for either :)

Soccer star in training...Tyler has been a big fan of kicking the ball around recently. He just woke up from his afternoon nap which is why we have the interesting outfit pictured below:

We usually take Tyler to get his hair cut, however Matt trimmed his bangs the other day. Now, Tyler tells us he is going to "cut" his hair. Once he takes the comb, this is how he "cuts" it:

Dresden is a very tolerant dog and for that, we are lucky. They are good buddies!

Tyler had his first ice cream sandwich and he sure did enjoy it!

Nancy (Matt's mom) has been helping us out by picking Tyler up on Thursday's from school. She usually takes him to the museum to play and then back to her house to eat dinner. This has been a huge help. Once she brings him home, she helps bathe him and read to him. Not only does he love seeing Grandma every week, but it is also a huge help to me, especially during 3rd trimester!

Pictured below is "Mr. Catapilla" and "Mr. Bee." Tyler loves watching tv with them. If I don't greet them properly, he will hold both of them up to me and say, "Talk to them, mommy!"
