I Have A Play Date...

Wyatt and Tyler met before they were even born. Wyatt's mommy, Michelle, was in my pre-natal water aerobics class. Michelle wasn't due until a couple of weeks after me, however she ended up having Wyatt 3 days after Tyler was born!

Tyler had Wyatt over for a play date...

Fun was had by all.

The Daily Grind...

Dropping Tyler off at daycare is even harder now than it used to be. I thought it would be the opposite way around. I thought, "This will get easier. I'll be used to leaving him every day to go to work." Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. It is harder.

Tyler is developing such a personality. He loves to play. He loves to laugh - especially when he thinks he has done something really funny (insert - pull my hair, grab for my cheek, hold on to my nose). When I give him kisses on his body and tell him I'm "going to get him," he laughs, even in anticipation and as he waits for me to do it again. His laughs turn me into mush and nothing else matters in those moments.

Don't get me wrong. I am comfortable with his day-care. He is so loved there, not only by his day-care provider, but also all of the kids. The kids call Tyler "cutie patootie tootie" and "cutie pie." They tell me they wish he was their little brother. They follow me out to the car, running down the hill after us, if they didn't get to "say bye" to him. I'm glad he is surrounded by so much love...I just wish I were the one giving it to him all day. I wish I were the one that got the extra 10 hours a day with him.

Sigh.

Mommy loves you Tyler. I hope you know that even when we aren't together, you are on my mind and in my heart, always.

Tyler Does Yoga...

Yoga? Stretch? Check out the height on this one!

Tyler loves this position. I'm always so impressed with his strength. We get tired looking at him do this all of the time. I mean, if I did this for minutes at a time, I think I'd want to rest my head, but not this guy.

5 Month Pictures...

Tyler is about 5 1/2 months old in these pictures.

If you knew how hard it was for me to get these taken and the number of times I worried that his six month birthday would come before I had a chance to take his five month pictures, you would be ashamed in awe of me.

Sleepy Tyler...

This is what sleepy Tyler looks like...

I know, I'm holding him a tad bit carelessly...but what is missing from this picture is an inside peak of what his diaper looks like under there. I'm full aware in this picture of what awaits me after hearing the rumbling for myself. Basically, I want to get him to the changing table without moving him around too much. Moving a baby around with a full diaper only amounts to a further mess. What! At least I'm honest.

Twinsies Reunite...

Jen and Nolan came to visit. Tyler had a great time playing with Nolan and I had a great time spending time with Jen. The last time the two of us spent the weekend together by ourselves was before both of the babies were born. If you know us, you know that is a long time! Tyler ended up coming down with a cold while Jen and Nolan were here. Let me share an equation with you:

Cold = Tyler's sleep schedule disrupted = Nolan's sleep schedule disrupted = two tired babies = two tired mommies! Despite this minor snag, we all held up well and had a good time.

We were getting ready to go for a walk and it started raining. This was Tyler's first time sitting in the stroller like this so I thought it was blog worthy:

Tyler and Nolan set up shop in the den and had quite the playtime experience:

Since Tyler was coming down with a cold, I didn't want him to go in the pool but we did take Jen and Nolan there so they could have some fun:

Tyler invited Nolan to play in his room. Nolan took him up on the offer. They didnt even need toys because they were entertained by the site of eachother.

Nolan fell fast asleep right before they were scheduled to leave. Dresden showed us that he is just as protective and comforting to other babies as he is to our own!

36...

36 days apart. Thats it. Just 36 days separate these two munchkins. I simply could not choose my favorite from their photo shoot...so I spared myself the agony...without further delay...

Cousins: Tyler and Nolan

You will also notice that Tyler is very proud of his ability to touch his left foot :)

Bags and Beach...

We headed to Carolina Beach on Saturday morning to spend the weekend with some friends. We were gone all of 24 hours and this gives you an idea of how we filled the trunk:

Ridiculous you say? I'm aware. And this was AFTER I went back through to try to eliminate a few items.

It was a three hour trip to get to the beach. Tyler did well with the ride. Both ways, he wanted some attention for about 45 minutes but aside from that, he napped the rest of the time. He's such a good baby!

We went to the beach Saturday morning. When we got there, we heard some thunder but it went away within minutes. It was a hot one outside, but there was also a nice breeze by the ocean. Tyler fell asleep on my shoulder while I standing by the ocean. It probably reminded him of his sound machine! I mean, the ocean sound is one of his bedtime jams!

Our friends, Matt and Amanda, were nice enough to bring a tent with them to the beach and they even set it up on the beach for us so Tyler could have some sun relief. He didn't nap in it, but he did play with some toys under there!

We also brought a little pool to the beach for Tyler. He kicked around in it for all of 5 minutes. He didn't squeel in delight, but he didn't cry either.

Meet Amanda. Her husband, Matt, works with my Matt. They have a 3 and 5 year old. Amanda and I get along great. She not only understands what it is like to manage the police officer schedule but she also gets what it is like to have a child with that schedule! We have such a good time when we are with Amanda and Matt and this weekend was no exception! :) We're lucky.

We ended the evening grilling out, having some drinks and playing cards.

Great weekend. Great friends.
