My First Dream About The Gender!

I've been telling you that I've been having some very vivid dreams. Well, last night, I had my first dream about the sex of the baby! It was definitely not a realistic dream, however the only one I've had about the baby this far. Let me explain how this played out:

We had a baby boy. The boy looked almost identical to one of my best friend's daughter's, Harper (except a boy version). I left the hospital the same day that I delivered, looking like I had never had a baby (haha). Matt and I got home from the hospital and realized that we were not prepared. We had no diapers and the only thing we had for the baby to be positioned in was a car seat that had been given to us. The baby also mentioned having a wet diaper. I was amazed that the baby could already talk and was so grown up seeming, however looked so young. I told Matt that I would go to the store to buy the diapers. I put the car seat on the couch (where my dad and Matt were sitting) and put the baby in it. Seconds later, the car seat tipped over and the baby landed on the floor. Matt and my dad continued to watch television. I picked up the baby and handed him to Matt. Matt then lifted the baby up in front of his face and said, "Hi sweetie!" like he was talking to a baby girl?!

And then...I woke up. I thought to myself, "What on earth is going on?!" So in my dream, the baby was basically 90% boy and 10% girl based on Matt's statements about calling the baby "sweetie." Interesting, yet way more entertaining.

15 Weeks!

How far along: 15 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: My doctor's office claims I have only gained 2 pounds. I'm not so sure. I feel like I weigh more...and my stomach definitely looks bigger to me in the evenings!
Maternity clothes: Not yet. I did buy a pair of maternity jeans which was pretty exciting. Who knew they come in S, M or L? I also got a belly band. I haven't NEEDED it yet, but did wear it today just because I could :)
Stretch marks: Not something I want to think about!
Sleep: For the most part, I'm sleeping pretty well! I do still have some crazy dreams every now and then that make me wake up and think, "What on earth is wrong with me?!"
Best moment this week: Telling all of our friends about the pregnancy!
Gender: I sooo just want a healthy boy or girl! I have no guesses on the gender yet but we find out on October 13th!
Belly button in or out?: Mabye its a little wider?
Craving: No way but the second I get a craving, it will certainly receive its own blog post! For now, I'm still struggling through with food aversions and nausea!
What I miss: I miss exercising without gagging and doing kick boxing and zumba classes...however believe me, I wouldn't trade this situation for anything.
What I am looking forward to: October 13, October 13, October 13th! Milestones: Being able to tell all of our family and friends about the pregnancy. While it feels a little nerve racking, it is also exciting to be able to share such great news!

All Is Well In Sunshine's World

I had a regular follow-up appointment today at my OB's office. Everything is going well and the doctor heard the heartbeat (which again, gave me confirmation that I have really been hearing the baby's heartbeat on the doppler this whole time instead of some random vein in my stomach or something!) My next appointment is the BIG appointment...the ultrasound! The appointment is on October 13th at 1pm. Mark your calendars!

Sunshine Goes To The Beach!

I just returned from a very relaxing few days on Topsail Island with my mom and Jaime for a girls weekend (Fri to Mon). Jen wasn't able to come at the last minute. We stayed at a really cute beach cottage that had amazing ocean views. I spent my time napping and basking in the sun, going on long walks and combing the clear waters for seashells. If you ask Jaime what she did all weekend, she'll tell you that she spent her entire weekend staring at my stomach :) Here are a few pics of this place I call paradise!

Deal-O-Rama

Deal-O-Rama is right! We scored this crib and changing table last week and even had it shipped right to our door! For those that know me, you know I am quite the bargain shopper. I must say, I'm pretty proud of this purchase. It went from the door to the office where it will remain in the box for quite a while. Here is a sneak peak:

Baby "Call Me Sunshine" Farrell

Over the weeks, the baby has managed to adopt the nickname "Sunshine" by his/her auntie :) I like it. It is so true. Sunshine has been such a bright light after many dark days. So with this I say, shine on, my sunshine.

Sunshine has managed to collect a few gifts, even at this very young age! This of course, is picture worthy!

In addition, I got a gift that is definitely going to come in handy...especially when I went to try on some pants this morning before work and they were a little bit snug really uncomfortable!

Fetal Doppler: Back To Friendship Status

So the fetal doppler and I didn't get along so well in the beginning. Our friendship was seriously on the rocks and the poor doppler was at the verge of being tossed at someone or something! I mean, who knew that a little thing could be so complicated? How was I supposed to know that I could pick up the sound of my own heart or blood flow? I didn't even think about the major artery running through my abdomen and that the swish of the blood could pick up on that trusty old doppler!

After some good research (ie: hubby reading manual, watching you tube videos, etc.) we were able to pick up the heartbeat! I had no idea how low the probe has to be to pick up the heartbeat! What a musical sound! Oh doppler, I love you.

I haven't become too obsessed dependent with the doppler, however it definitely helps to put my mind at ease. I plan to check every week or so, but no more frequent than that. Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh :)

Guilty, As Charged.

Yes, officer. I am guilty. I accept the charges of Failure to Blog in a Timely Fashion. Has it really been 13 days since my last blog entry?! Shame on me and thanks for the hints to remind me to get my act back into blogging gear!

New friend: Coming soon

Soo I purchased this fetal doppler online so that hopefully I can hear the baby's heartbeat and continue to put my mind at ease. It should come in the mail tomorrow. Here she is, isn't she a beauty?! :)
