I Have a PJ Problem...

Seriously, I kind of have a PJ problem. I love the kids in matching PJ's! It all started around Christmas time when I saw them in the same color scheme and BAM! Here I go, at it again for a summer time matching session! Love these two! :)

Jake's First Pool Trip...

Jake went to his first pool trip of what will likely be many. He loved the water! Tyler also had fun watching float around in the pool with me in his raft! Hoping for many more successful pool visits this summer!

Happy Father's Day...

Happy Father's Day to the best dad ever!! Jake and Tyler made this for daddy this year.

This is one of my favorites. Tyler filled this out about his dad :)

For dinner, we had had steak and grilled corn. After dinner, we had Pat, Heidi and Bryson come over for a bonfire and smores!

I've said this before and I'll say it again....the kids are so lucky to have a dad as great as Matt is. We are happy to celebrate him any chance we can! Happy Father's Day!! We love you!

Jake's First Baseball Game...

Every year, the kidney transplant team that I work with hosts a family night at the Durham Bulls athletic park. They have a catered dinner of hot dogs and hamburgers and nice seats at the game!

Tyler had a great time cheering at the game for the mascot and eating cookies. Jake enjoyed looking around and boycotting bedtime at the ballpark! The weather was beautiful and we were in good company!

Backyard Bonfires Are Normal, Right?!

Everyone has bonfires in their backyard, right?

Matt would have a bonfire every day of the week if time would allow for it. We have had alot of storms come through and this has given us alot of brush to burn. In addition, it is basically a house rule that when a bonfire is going, its an automatic okay that we make s'mores! Bryson and Uncle Pat came over as well!

Grammy and Grandpa come to town!

When I was talking to my mom last week, she asked if we had plans this weekend. She told me that her and my dad were thinking about coming to visit! They were trying to find a time to squeeze in a visit before Jen has the baby.

We did not have plans this weekend and we were so glad to have them visit. It came in perfect timing - I missed three days of work this week because of a flare up with my back. We definitely were looking forward to having the extra hands around here!

Jake loves his Grandpa!

Grammy and Grandpa came armed with a few gifts for the boys. They brought Jake this elephant ball popper. It kept him entertained all weekend! I enjoy seeing his face light up when he catches the ball or tries to find it. I do not enjoy chasing after the balls when they hit the ground :)

Do you see those eyelashes?!

They always manage to squeeze in lots of story time!

I'm beginning to think that Daddy has more fun than Tyler when it comes to any type of living creature to put into the bug catcher. Daddy found a big toad for Tyler. The toad hung out in the bug catcher for about 5 minutes before getting released back out into the yard.

On Friday night, we started noticing alot of fireflies outside. Grammy and Grandpa asked if Tyler could stay up later than usual on Saturday night to try to catch some. Here they are - on the look out!

Sometimes, it takes three people to put a firefly into the catcher!

We had such a fun night!!

Jake and Grammy

I love the way Jake sleeps. When he is tired, he is tired...and he has no trouble letting you know. He will rub his eyes to let you know that he wants to go to sleep. When he is drinking his night time bottle, he will put his entire hand over his entire eye - almost as if to tell us one more time that he is really sleepy and can't be bothered with the rest of us :)

It was great to have some extra feeders in the house! See, Jake's hair looks blonde here?

Jake has gotten so much better about sitting up this weekend! He can sit for longer periods of time before toppling over.

My parents are the absolute best. It is so much fun to see them with the kids - and just as much fun to hear them relive stories about us when we were little based on things our kids do to trigger their memory. I'm lucky to have them both as parents - they are so supportive and loving - always! Until next time, Grammy and Grandpa ... we love you!
