Nebulizer: Round Two

Unfortunately, we had to dust off the nebulizer and put it to use for a few days. Tyler had a cold and was wheezing with every breath. We did the treatments one time per day before bed. The first night or two, he cried through most of it (which, according to our pediatrician, is actually a good thing because it opens up the lungs). By the third or fourth night, he took it like a champ (with Baby Einstein for distraction, of course).

No Toys Needed...

Seriously...who needs toys when you've got Us Weekly magazine, Weight Watchers magazine, hair bands and a cell phone charger?!

Easter Festivities...

Matt worked over the Easter weekend. To deal with the situation, I kept Tyler and I very busy! Take a peak: To start, Tyler and I met up with our friends Shayne, Michelle and Wyatt for an easter egg hunt at Durham Central Park. I've talked about Wyatt before. He was born three days after Tyler. Michelle and I met in pre-natal water aerobics and our lives just click! I learned a couple of things at this easter egg hunt. First, I need to step up my game and do a little research. I'm not used to considering another little person into the equation. I mean, let's face it. Its been a while since I've attended "kiddie" events. Time for full disclosure: I didn't bring my own child an easter basket for his first easter egg hunt. How does that happen?! Luckily, Michelle brought two. The second lesson I learned was about the determination of other parents to see their kids "win." I was expecting a scene where kids walk around casually with their baskets, laughing and picking up and egg or two. Ok, scratch that. Let me paint a picture of a mob scene. I'm talking about parents grabbing eggs and throwing them into their kids baskets. I'm talking about observing people running into each other to get to an egg. It's an egg, people! Let me also add, an egg that had a little tootsie roll in it! Needless to say, I just wanted Tyler to get one egg. That was my goal...and we succeeded. Wyatt was nice enough to give Tyler another egg. Tyler had a great time with his two eggs. He banged them together in a clapping motion the whole morning. The best part of all: Matt was able to stop by for a couple of minutes!

The next day (on Easter), Tyler humored me by putting on (for one second) these bunny ears:
Later in the day, Tyler and I went on a picnic (consisting of goldfish and story time) at Duke Gardens.
We also had a photo shoot while we were there. It was hot and sunny. Check it out! I tried to narrow it down by just showing you these photos. Tyler was a good sport.

Books, Car Seat and Sleep...

Three things Tyler frequents... #1: Books - Tyler LOVES books. Loves them. If you have read this blog at all, then you know that he usually is reading a book. Kiddo can go from 0 to 360 over the closing of a book. If you don't believe me, just come over for story time!

.
#2: Car Seat - I finally got a picture of Tyler in his car seat. Yes, yes. I know he is not fastened in his car seat. No worries. I took this before we left the driveway!
#3: Sleep - Sometimes, I can't help but peak in on him. It could be the smallest reason and I can come up with any reason (make sure he is okay, make sure the room is not too cold, make sure the room is not too hot, make sure he didn't throw "puppy" out of the crib, make sure his legs are not stuck behind the crib slats, make sure I turned the heater on, make sure I didn't turn the heater on)...Ok, ok. You get the drift. There are other times that I intentionally want to wake him up to play with him or cuddle with him. Quickly after that, my common sense kicks in and I think, "Are you crazy?!?!" Anyways, I took this one right before I went to bed one night. Peaceful. He is so peaceful. .

Morning Smiles...

I love going into Tyler's room in the morning to get him out of his crib. How could you not?!

Cousin Bryson...

When Tyler goes over to his Grandma and Grandpa Farrell's house, he also sees his cousin, Bryson. Here are a few pictures:

Daddy and Me...

Tyler loves the book, "Daddy and Me." It is a pop up book and he loves reading it with daddy before bed time! I'm glad I got to capture it because this is exactly what the scene usually looks like:

Reading with Grandpa Farrell...

Grandpa Farrell stopped by for a quick visit. Grandpa wore the shirt that Tyler got him for his birthday. Grandma and Grandpa also brought over an easter basket for Tyler...including chocolate for mommy and daddy!
